A fragrant breath of congratulations wafted

The sweet fragrance of sincere congratulations

in the gardens of national glad tidings.

Has perfumed the gardens of plentiful tidings.

طلع العيد بالسرور عليها

فهو يجلو الكواكب الدريه

فهو يجلو الكواكب الدريه

The feast dawned upon her with joy,

Eid has risen with joy upon it,

so it unveils the pearl-bright stars.

As it dispels the shining stars.

جاءها عيدها السعيد بنعمى

جاءها عيدها السعيد بنعمى

فهي بالبشر والسرور حريه

فهي بالبشر والسرور حريه

Her happy feast came to her with blessings,

Her happy Eid has come with blessings,

so she deserves gladness and joy.

So she is free in her joy and delight.

اطلقت فيه من اسار وقيد

اطلقت فيه من اسار وقيد

واستلذت بنعمة الحريه

واستلذت بنعمة الحريه

During it she was freed from captivity and fetters,

It has released her from captivity and bondage,

and delighted in the blessing of freedom.

And she has enjoyed the blessing of freedom.

وشفت غلة بيوم سقاها

وشفت غلة بيوم سقاها

من رحيق الهنا كؤوساً رويه

من رحيق الهنا كؤوساً رويه

And she quenched her burning thirst on a day that gave her

And she saw the yields from a day it watered,

thirst-quenching cups of happiness's nectar.

From the nectar of bliss cups overflowing.

واستضاءت بظل عدل ظليل

واستضاءت بظل عدل ظليل

في حمى دولة الرشاد العليه

في حمى دولة الرشاد العليه

And she found light beneath justice's sheltering shade,

And it shone in the shade of a just protection,

in the sanctuary of the exalted state of right guidance.

In the sanctuary of the supreme just leadership.

وعلت باتحادها والترقي

وعلت باتحادها والترقي

ذروة المجد والمعالي السنيه

ذروة المجد والمعالي السنيه

And through her unity and progress she ascended

And with its unity and advancement,

the summit of glory and splendid honors.

It reached the pinnacle of glory and nobility.

قف ببغداد في المعسكر وانظر

كيف تجلى المناظر العسكريه

كيف تجلى المناظر العسكريه

Stand in Baghdad, in the camp, and behold

Stand in Baghdad, in the barracks, and look

how the military spectacles unfold.

How the military spectacles have manifested.

فيلق تخبر الشجاعة عنه

انها من صفاته الذاتيه

انها من صفاته الذاتيه

A corps of which courage declares

There is a troop that its valor tells of,

that it is among its inherent qualities.

That it is among its innate qualities.

فيلق تسطع البوارق منه

من وميض البنادق الموزريه

من وميض البنادق الموزريه

A corps from which lightning flashes blaze,

There is a troop whose banners shine,

from the gleam of Mauser rifles.

From the sparkle of ornamented rifles.

فإذا صوبت فحية رمل

فإذا صوبت فحية رمل

تنفث السم السم واسمها بندقيه

تنفث السم السم واسمها بندقيه

When aimed, it is a sand viper,

So if it takes aim over a sandy hill,

spitting poison—poison—and its name is 'rifle.'

It spews poison, poison - and it is named “rifle.”

وإذا أطلقت فرعد سحاب

وإذا أطلقت فرعد سحاب

يوقر السمع منه صوت الميه

يوقر السمع منه صوت الميه

And when fired, it is the thunder of clouds,

And if it fires, then thunderous clouds roar,

whose hundredfold report deafens the ear.

Deafening to the ear with the sound of torrents.

تتجلى أهلة ونجوم

فوق اعلامه الوسام البهيه

فوق اعلامه الوسام البهيه

Crescents and stars shine forth

Crescents and stars appear

above its handsome, splendid banners.

Above its banners, the splendid insignias.

وعليها تلوح اعلام نصر

وعليها تلوح اعلام نصر

نزلت من مظاهر قدسيه

نزلت من مظاهر قدسيه

And upon them gleam signs of victory,

And victory banners are waving over them,

descended from sacred manifestations.

Having descended from sacred manifestations.

برز الجيش في نظام جمال

برز الجيش في نظام جمال

وعلى الجيش بهجة أحمديه

وعلى الجيش بهجة أحمديه

The army appeared in a beautiful formation,

The army marched out in beautiful order,

and upon the army rests the splendor of Ahmad.

And over the army is an Ahmadi radiance.

موقف للجمال فيه مزايا

موقف للجمال فيه مزايا

ولكم للجمال فيه مزيه

ولكم للجمال فيه مزيه

A scene in which beauty has its excellences,

A stance of beauty in which are advantages,

and how many a distinction beauty has there!

And how much beauty is in it!

حبذا معرض الجياد المذاكى

حبذا معرض الجياد المذاكى

وعليها الفوارس العربيه

وعليها الفوارس العربيه

How splendid the display of full-grown steeds,

Best are the steeds’ training grounds,

and upon them the Arab horsemen!

And over them the Arab knights.

ام صقور على قرى مضرحيه

ام صقور على قرى مضرحيه

Are these men upon the backs of thoroughbreds,

Men on the backs of noble horses,

or falcons upon the backs of mighty eagles?

Or hawks on the peaks of Mudar.

تحمل الخيل في الكريهة منهم

تحمل الخيل في الكريهة منهم

اسد حرب عرينها السمهريه

اسد حرب عرينها السمهريه

In battle the horses bear, from among them,

The steeds carry lions of war,

lions of war whose lair is straight-shafted spears.

Whose den is al-Samhari.

افرغوها على الجسوم قلوبا

افرغوها على الجسوم قلوبا

من حديد تغني عن السابريه

من حديد تغني عن السابريه

They cast them upon bodies as hearts

They poured into their bodies hearts

of iron, dispensing with Sabiri mail.

Of iron, dispensing with coats of mail.

عرب اصبحت بيوت علاهم

عرب اصبحت بيوت علاهم

باذخات فوق السهى مبنيه

باذخات فوق السهى مبنيه

Arabs whose houses of glory have become

Arabs whose houses of exaltation

towering, built above al-Suha.

Were built lofty upon the heights.

حفظوا عزهم فاضحى منيعا

حفظوا عزهم فاضحى منيعا

بضمان الصوارم المشرفيه

بضمان الصوارم المشرفيه

They preserved their honor, and it became impregnable

They preserved their honor thus it became impregnable,

under the guarantee of keen Mashrafi swords.

Under the protection of honorable swords.

جمعتهم عواطف الدين جمعا

جمعتهم عواطف الدين جمعا

ولنعم العواطف الدينيه

ولنعم العواطف الدينيه

The sentiments of faith gathered them together,

The passions of religion united them,

and excellent indeed are religious sentiments!

And excellent are the religious passions.

يا حماة لها الاجانب طرا

يا حماة لها الاجانب طرا

شهدت بالحمية الوطنيه

شهدت بالحمية الوطنيه

O defenders, for whom all foreigners

O protectors, foreigners are coveting it,

have borne witness to patriotic devotion:

You have witnessed the nationalist zeal.

لو نظرتهم إلى طرابلس الغرب

لو نظرتهم إلى طرابلس الغرب

رأيتم مناظرا دمويه

رأيتم مناظرا دمويه

Had you looked at them toward Tripoli of the West,

If you looked towards Western Tripoli,

you would have seen bloody scenes.

You saw bloody scenes.

صبغت أرضها الدماء البريه

صبغت أرضها الدماء البريه

وبها سالت النفوس الزكيه

وبها سالت النفوس الزكيه

Innocent blood stained its soil,

Its land was dyed by innocent blood,

and there pure souls ebbed away.

And pure souls flowed out over it.

حشدت رومة عليها قواها

حشدت رومة عليها قواها

ورمتها القذائف الناريه

ورمتها القذائف الناريه

Rome massed her forces against it,

Rome gathered its forces against it,

and fiery shells bombarded it.

And bombarded it with fiery shells.

واستهانت بالمسلمين جميعا

واستهانت بالمسلمين جميعا

واستخفت بالخطة الدوليه

واستخفت بالخطة الدوليه

She held all Muslims in contempt,

And it slighted all the Muslims,

and scorned international policy.

And took the international law lightly.

عاث في أرضنا من القوم وحش

عاث في أرضنا من القوم وحش

كاسر وهو يدعى المدنيه

كاسر وهو يدعى المدنيه

A beast from that people ravaged our land,

A vicious beast wreaked havoc on our land,

a predator, while claiming civilization.

While claiming to be civilized.

ابلغ المسلمين شرقا وغربا

ابلغ المسلمين شرقا وغربا

نفثات من الصدور الجويه

نفثات من الصدور الجويه

Convey to Muslims, east and west,

It conveyed to the Muslims east and west

sighs from anguish-stricken breasts.

Emanations from wicked hearts.

هذه دولة الخلافة تدعو

هذه دولة الخلافة تدعو

باتحاد العناصر الأحمديه

باتحاد العناصر الأحمديه

This state of the caliphate calls

This caliphate state calls

for the union of the peoples of Ahmad.

For the unity of Ahmadi elements.

زحف الغرب بالدجى فاصدعوها

زحف الغرب بالدجى فاصدعوها

بضياء الأهلة الشرقيه

بضياء الأهلة الشرقيه

The West advanced with darkness; so rend it

The West marched in the darkness - so repel it

with the radiance of the eastern crescents.

With the illumination of the Eastern crescents.

لا يزال الكتاب يهتف بالتو

حيد فيكم والسنة النبويه

The Book still proclaims mono-

The Book still calls for unity in you

theism among you, as does the Prophetic Sunnah.

And the Prophetic Sunnah.

انما المؤمنون في كل خطب

انما المؤمنون في كل خطب

أخوة والأخاء فيهم سجيه

أخوة والأخاء فيهم سجيه

Believers, in every crisis, are but

The believers are all brothers in every adversity,

brothers, and brotherhood is innate in them.

And brotherhood is ingrained in them.

فإذا ما طلبتم سالف المجد

فإذا ما طلبتم سالف المجد

فقوموا بعزمة سلفية

فقوموا بعزمة سلفية

So if you seek the glory of old,

So if you seek past glory,

then rise with the resolve of your forebears.

Then stand with Salafi resolve.

وانهضوا نهضة اتحاد وود

وانهضوا نهضة اتحاد وود

واستجدوا العلائق الوديه

واستجدوا العلائق الوديه

And rise in a surge of unity and affection,

And rise up in unified affection and love,

and renew the bonds of friendship.

Cultivating friendly ties.

وانصروا راية الهلال فانتم

وانصروا راية الهلال فانتم

نسل تلك العصابة البدريه

نسل تلك العصابة البدريه

And champion the crescent's banner, for you are

And support the crescent banner - for you

the descendants of that company of Badr.

Are the progeny of that Badri battalion.
