O you who left, with a rock—

hard and solid—his head wounded down to the brain's membrane:

Its summit as shelter

إنّ الذي عاضدته

إنّ الذي عاضدته

أشبهته خلقاً وشيمهْ

أشبهته خلقاً وشيمهْ

Indeed, the one you supported,

Indeed, he whom you supported

you resembled him in character and disposition.

Resembled you in nature and manner

وكفعل جدتك الحدي

وكفعل جدتك الحدي

ثة فعلَ جدته القديمهْ

ثة فعلَ جدته القديمهْ

And like your latter-day grandmother's deed

And as your foremother did

was the deed of his grandmother of old.

So did his ancient foremother

فتناصرا فابن اللئي

مة ناصر لابن اللئيمهْ
