How many a little orphan you restored after his bereavement,
Many a child you have comforted after he was orphaned,
How many a helpless orphan has he reared,
and how many a poor man you raised from destitution.
and a poor man you have lifted out of destitution.
And many a pauper in their need he cheered,

رضي اللّه عن سعيد بن سَلْمِ
Whenever calamities sank their teeth in, he cried out:
Whenever calamities bit, he cried out:
Whenever fate's misfortunes people feared,
May God be pleased with Sa‘id ibn Salm.
“May God be pleased with Saʿīd son of Salm!”
God be pleased with Sa'id ibn Salim.
