أميرَ المؤمنينَ نثا كلامي

أميرَ المؤمنينَ نثا كلامي

Lo, convey to Muʿāwiya son of Ṣakhr,

the Commander of the Faithful, the tenor of my words:

فإنا صابرون ومنظوركم

فإنا صابرون ومنظوركم

إلى يوم التغابن والخصام

إلى يوم التغابن والخصام

For we are patient, and your respite lasts

until the Day of Mutual Loss and Dispute.
