فالتمرُ يغنينا عن المتصيِّد

Dates are enough for us instead of the hunter

والريفِ نمنعكم بكلِّ مهنّدِ
We have confined you to the spiny-tailed lizard you lure out,
Your sadness for the wolf you provoke
and bar you from the fertile countryside with every sword of Indian steel.
And the countryside we forbid you with every spear

We decide and move on as we want in you
as an obstinate master treats his enslaved servant.
The act of the stubborn with his enslaved slave
