    حتى سُــدَّ دربــــي

    How did you roll the boulders of despair

    until my path was blocked?

  4. كيف ترضين ضيـاع العمر

    مــن ســربٍ لســرب ؟

    How can you accept a lifetime wasted

    from flock to flock?

  5. كيف تنأين , ومافـي النَّأي

    إلا كـــلّ كــــرب ؟

    How can you go far away, when distance holds

    nothing but anguish of every kind?

  6. هوِّني عصفورتي ماعاد

    ذو يـــأسٍ بكسب

    Take heart, my little bird: never has

    a despairing soul returned with gain.

  7. يرحل المرتاب في دنيــاه

    مـن خــطب لخــطب

    The doubter journeys through his world

    from calamity to calamity.

  8. فاملئي الدنـيــا بشدوٍ

    وأميـــتي كـــلَّ رعـب

    So fill the world with song,

    and put every terror to death.

  9. أينـما طــرتِ ستـلقـيني

    ..فـإن العــشَّ قــلبي

    Wherever you fly, you will find me,

    for the nest is my heart.
