From your door, open to the sun,

I recount to my today the story of yesterday.

And toward my tomorrow, without fear, goes

My heart, and my soul knows its path.

My voice celebrates you aloud whenever

The lip of poetry speaks, and my whisper celebrates you too.

    O Al-Aqsa Mosque, I see you upon

The crowns of the clouds, while you are in Jerusalem.

And I see you as dawn's light as I take my morning draught,

And I see you as a full moon as I enter the evening.

And I see you as dew in the mouth of morning,

For which the beds of planted seedlings yearn.

And I see you in my heart, even if they raise

Their walls, and I see you in my senses.

    O Al-Aqsa Mosque, I see you upon

The face of truth, without ambiguity.

Do not be disheartened by the state of our nation,

However much misery you see in it.

For my nation has summits through its faith,

By which it keeps its head held high.

If a group has brought disgrace upon it,

From among its own, and led it to misfortune—

They filled for it the cup of its downfall,

So it drank its fill of the cup's bitterness,

And they defiled themselves by embracing a usurper,

Ignoring the consequences of the lesson—

Then it will surely lift the robe of its chastity

Away from the abode of sins and defilement.

O Mosque of the Night Journey, O lip

Calling us to our five prayers,

You are still greater than their plotting,

However long they prolong the term of confinement.

Do not be disheartened by them, for they will not stand

Except upon a cliff of despair.

How often they proclaimed their claim to Arab identity,

And held a wedding celebration for it.

And how often they hastened toward the enemy without

    Awareness, judgment, or intuition.

Say, O Al-Aqsa, to those who were deluded:

Do branches seek refuge with the axe?

Say to Arab identity, in its attachment

    To illusion, distortion, and intrigue:

I see no honor for my Arab identity

In the war of Dhubyan or Abs.

The honor of Arab identity is to walk in step with

The sound of the call to prayer and the Verse of the Throne.
