يا كوثراً قد رقى في الجود مرتبةً

يا كوثراً قد رقى في الجود مرتبةً

سها لديها السُّهى حزناً فلم يبنِ

سها لديها السُّهى حزناً فلم يبنِ

O Kawthar, who has risen to a rank in generosity

O generous one who has risen to the highest rank of generosity

Beside which al-Suhā, distracted by sorrow, did not appear.

Its horses are saddened yet uncomplaining

غعمرتني بعطايا جلّ موقعها

غعمرتني بعطايا جلّ موقعها

إلى قلائلها يحتاج كل غني

إلى قلائلها يحتاج كل غني

You overwhelmed me with gifts whose impact was immense;

You have enriched me with gifts that hold great esteem

Every wealthy person needs even a few of them.

Yet even the wealthy are in need of but a few

فمن يراها يظل الدهر ينشدنا

فمن يراها يظل الدهر ينشدنا

هذي المكارم لا قعبان من لبن

هذي المكارم لا قعبان من لبن

So whoever sees them keeps reciting to us forever:

Thus whoever beholds you remains enchanted forever

“These are noble deeds—not two wooden bowls of milk.”

With your noble deeds, not fleeting like clouds of dust
