He said to me as he plunged into his struggle:
The time of raiding with jihad told me
The era of his storming struggle spoke to me, saying:
“For Libya, I am resolute.”
For the sake of Libya, with determination
"For the sake of Libya, unyielding persistence is mine."

سلبا لهم: وكذاك الأستعمار
The Italian aggressors coveted our lands
The transgressing Italians coveted our homes
The Italian tyrants coveted our abodes,
as plunder for themselves—and such is colonialism.
Looting them, and so did colonialism
To seize as plunder; such is the nature of colonialism.

Rather, they threatened with invasion those for whom it was
But those who made it their homeland threatened to invade
Nay, threatened with invasion was the land that was a home,
a homeland, where there was no right to remain.
They have no right to settle there
Upon which they had no right to settle or decree.

Who occupies a land without poles
Who occupies a land defended by life's utmost desires.

The leader stood at the top of his mountain
The leader stood upon the peaks of his mountain,
“And I am its defender, and shame will be erased.”
And I am its protector, erasing disgrace
Vowing, "I am her protector, and the shame shall be erased."
