بسم الذي رفع السماء بناء

نلنا انتصارا في الوجود أضاء

In the name of the One who raised the heavens as a structure,

We achieved a victory that illuminated all existence,

نلنا انتصارا للعبور أحله

في العالمين مكانه الوضاء

We achieved a victory for the Crossing, granting it

A luminous place of honor amidst the worlds.

قالوا ابن مصر يداه تقصر أن تري

ماكان من بارليف عز وطاء

They claimed the son of Egypt's reach fell short of seeing

The might and heavy tread that was the Bar Lev Line,

فيه الحصون موانع لاترتقي

أو تقتفي أثرا ثري وسماء

Within it lay fortresses, barriers unscalable,

Or trace a path between the dust and the sky.

قد خططوه فكرة بهرت نهي

وتعاقبوها فطنة وذكاء

They planned it as a concept that dazzled the intellect,

Pursuing it with acumen and cunning wit.

قالوا بأن لو حاول ابن كنانة

هدم الجدار لما استطاع فناء

They said that if the son of Kinana ever attempted

To demolish the wall, he would fail to bring its end,

أو ثم لم تأخذ مدافعه سوي

أن دمرت نفسها إعياء

Or that his cannons would reap nothing but

Self-destruction born of sheer exhaustion,

أو قدر ما النمل استطاع بلوغه

من ركن ثهلان ابتغاه هباء

Or merely achieve what ants might accomplish

Against the cornerstone of Thahlan, seeking only dust.

هل تنقل النمل الجبال بحملها

أطنان صخر للذري شماء؟

Can ants relocate mountains by bearing their weight,

Carrying tons of rock to peaks so high and proud?

وإذا بجيش النيل من اّفاقه

شق الفضا جددا وأنزل ماء

Yet behold the Army of the Nile, rising from its horizons,

Cleaving the space anew, bringing down the water.

فيه الرؤوس ثمار أجساد لها

وجسومها دوح هوي أشلاء

Wherein heads became the ripened fruit of bodies,

And their torsos fell like great trees, scattered in pieces.

وقبورهم قد بعثرت بخطوطهم

دشما تضم بطونها أحشاء

Their graves were strewn throughout their defensive lines,

Bunkers enclosing viscera within their bellies.

عبر القناة دراغم من فوقها

ونسور جو رجت الغبراء

Lions crossed the Canal, surging over its banks,

And eagles of the air shook the dusty earth below.

والقاذفات النازعات الراجفا

ت الرادفات غدت لهم أرجاء

And the bombers, the violently tearing, the quaking,

The following blasts encompassed them from all sides.

طحنت عظام جنود إسرائيل في

شرق القناة تبيدهم إفناء

Grinding the bones of the soldiers of Israel,

East of the Canal, annihilating them into nothingness.

عصفت رياح الموت في اّفاقهم

تذر الديار بلاقها وفناء

The winds of death stormed through their horizons,

Leaving their dwellings barren, a desolate courtyard.

الله أكبر يانسور سمائنا

حررت أرضك أنجدا وفضاء

Allahu Akbar, O eagles of our skies,

You have liberated your land, its highlands and its space.

ورميت في البحر القذائف والربا

والعاديات ضحن منك جراء

You cast the shells and the high grounds into the sea,

And the charging steeds panted in the heat of your pursuit.

ويل لديان وجولد مئيره

إن كان رابين ابتغي العلياء

Woe be to Dayan and to Golda Meir,

And if Rabin had sought to reach the heights.

إنا قهرنا المبتغين توسعا

في أرض يعرب عزة وإباء

For we have vanquished those who sought expansion

On the land of the Arabs, with glory and defiance.

فلتغد يا ديان نادب طوقها

ولجولد مائير انتفضت بكاء

So go now, O Dayan, mourning the collar of defeat,

While Golda Meir convulses in weeping.
