فَلَم أَرَ كَالإِسلامِ عِزّاً لِأُمَّةٍ

فَلَم أَرَ كَالإِسلامِ عِزّاً لِأُمَّةٍ

وَلا مِثلَ أَضيافِ الأَراشِيِّ مَعشَراً

وَلا مِثلَ أَضيافِ الأَراشِيِّ مَعشَراً

So I have seen no glory for a people like Islam,

I saw no glory like Islam for a nation,

Nor any company like the guests of al-Arashi:

Nor folk like the guests of Araash hosting a throng,

نَبِيٌّ وَصِدّيقٌ وَفاروقُ أُمَّةٍ

نَبِيٌّ وَصِدّيقٌ وَفاروقُ أُمَّةٍ

وَخَيرُ بَني حَوّاءَ فَرعاً وَعُنصُرا

وَخَيرُ بَني حَوّاءَ فَرعاً وَعُنصُرا

A Prophet, a man of steadfast truth, and a people's discerner of right from wrong,

A prophet, a truthful one, and champion of a nation,

And the best of Eve's children in branch and stock.

And the best of Eve's daughters a branch and mainstay.

فَوافَوا لِميقاتٍ وَقَدرِ قَضِيَّةٍ

فَوافَوا لِميقاتٍ وَقَدرِ قَضِيَّةٍ

وَكانَ قَضاءُ اللَهِ قَدراً مُقَدَّرا

وَكانَ قَضاءُ اللَهِ قَدراً مُقَدَّرا

So they arrived at an appointed time, in accordance with a matter decreed,

They came at the appointed time and destined decree,

And God's decree was an ordained destiny,

And God's decree was a predetermined destiny,

إِلى رَجُلٍ نَجدٍ يُباري بِجودِهِ

إِلى رَجُلٍ نَجدٍ يُباري بِجودِهِ

شُموسَ الضُحى جوداً وَمَجداً وَمَفخَرا

شُموسَ الضُحى جوداً وَمَجداً وَمَفخَرا

To a valiant man who rivals, with his generosity,

To a Najdi man who vies in his generosity

The suns of midmorning in generosity, glory, and pride,

With the suns of dawn, in bounty, glory and pride.

وَفارِسِ خَلقِ اللَهِ في كُلِّ غارَةٍ

وَفارِسِ خَلقِ اللَهِ في كُلِّ غارَةٍ

إِذا لَبِسَ القَومُ الحَديدَ المُسَمَّرا

إِذا لَبِسَ القَومُ الحَديدَ المُسَمَّرا

And the horseman of God's creation in every raid,

And the finest of God's creation in every raid,

When the men don riveted iron armor.

When men don armor and coats of mail fastened,

فَفَدّى وَحَيّا ثُمَّ أَدنى قِراهُمُ

فَفَدّى وَحَيّا ثُمَّ أَدنى قِراهُمُ

فَلَم يَقرِهِم إِلّا سَميناً مُتَمَّرا

فَلَم يَقرِهِم إِلّا سَميناً مُتَمَّرا

So he pledged himself as their ransom and greeted them, then brought their guest-fare near;

He ransomed and sustained life, then brought them near,

So he served them nothing but a fat, date-fed animal.

Only to free them while sleek and well fed.
