لَو لَم تَكُن فيهِ آياتٌ مُبَيَّنَةٌ

لَو لَم تَكُن فيهِ آياتٌ مُبَيَّنَةٌ

كانَت بَديهَتُهُ تُنبيكَ بِالخَبَرِ

كانَت بَديهَتُهُ تُنبيكَ بِالخَبَرِ

If there were no clear signs in him,

If there were not in it clear verses,

his natural bearing would tell you the truth.

Its innate nature would bring you the news.

فَثَبَّتَ اللَهُ ما آتاكَ مِن حَسَنٍ

فَثَبَّتَ اللَهُ ما آتاكَ مِن حَسَنٍ

قَفَوتَ عيسى بِإِذنِ اللَهِ وَالقَدَرِ

قَفَوتَ عيسى بِإِذنِ اللَهِ وَالقَدَرِ

So may God uphold the goodness He has bestowed on you;

So God has confirmed what good He has given you,

you have followed in Jesus’s footsteps, by God’s permission and decree.

You followed Jesus by God's leave and decree.
