My esteemed master has bestowed a favor upon me—

My esteemed lord has shown me favor

through his favor toward my faithful son.

Through his kindness to my trustworthy son.

تحقق في مقام الشكر عجزي

تحقق في مقام الشكر عجزي

فآثر أن أرى ولدي معيني

فآثر أن أرى ولدي معيني

My incapacity in the realm of poetry became clear,

My inadequacy became clear when it came to giving thanks,

so he preferred that I regard my son as my helper.

So he chose that I should see my son as my helper.
