كانَت قُرَيشٌ بَيضَةٍ فَتَفَلَّقَت

كانَت قُرَيشٌ بَيضَةٍ فَتَفَلَّقَت

فالمُحُّ خالِصُهُ لِعَبدِ الدارِ

فالمُحُّ خالِصُهُ لِعَبدِ الدارِ

Quraysh was an egg, then it split apart.

Quraysh were an egg that hatched

So its pure yolk belonged to ʿAbd al-Dār.

The sincere core belongs to the servant of the house

وَمَناةُ رَبّي خَصَّهُم بِكرامَةٍ

وَمَناةُ رَبّي خَصَّهُم بِكرامَةٍ

حُجّابُ بَيتِ اللهِ ذي الأَستارِ

حُجّابُ بَيتِ اللهِ ذي الأَستارِ

And Manāt, my lord, singled them out for honor:

And Manat, my Lord specially honored them with generosity

Gatekeepers of God's House, hung with curtains;

Custodians of the house of God with the curtains

أًهلُ المَكارِمِ وَالعَلاءِ وَنَدوَةُ الن

أًهلُ المَكارِمِ وَالعَلاءِ وَنَدوَةُ الن

نادي وَأَهلُ لَطيمَةِ الجَبّارِ

نادي وَأَهلُ لَطيمَةِ الجَبّارِ

People of noble deeds and eminence, and the council of the

The people of generosity, nobility, and hospitality

assembly hall, and people of the mighty ruler's perfume caravan;

The prominent tribe and people of the Almighty's grace

وَلِوى قُرَيشٍ في المَشاهِدِ كُلِّها

وَلِوى قُرَيشٍ في المَشاهِدِ كُلِّها

وَبِنَجدَةٍ عِندَ القَنا الخَطّارِ

وَبِنَجدَةٍ عِندَ القَنا الخَطّارِ

And theirs is Quraysh's banner in every battle,

Quraysh turned towards all the holy sites

And valor amid the swaying spears.

And excel in generosity at the dangerous passes
