وأمطلُه العَصرَينِ حَتّى يَملَّني
وَيَرضىand he is content بِنِصفِwith half of الدينِthe debt وَالأَنفُand the nose راغِمُrubbed in the dust
وَيَرضى بِنِصفِ الدينِ وَالأَنفُ راغِمُ
I put him off morning and evening, until he wearies of me,
And I delay paying him day and night until he tires of me,

And accepts half the debt, his pride humbled in the dust.
And he accepts half the debt, his nose rubbed in the dust.
And be satisfied with half the debt though the nose is averse
