    Hearken, O mighty lion: learn.

And sit upon your haunches, lend your ear, and benefit.

So you may gain lessons in steadfastness, as though they were

A full moon in the darkness of night, shining for a Muslim.

    يَرُومُونَ تَحْرِيكَ الرَّوَاسِي بِمِعْصَمِ

    A steadfastness that shakes tyrants and humiliates them;

They seek to move firmly rooted mountains with a wrist.

For here is Kamilia, who has come after brethren,

To cast a light that terrifies blind falsehood.

She confronts, without turning aside, the forces of evil among humankind,

Like the lions of al-Shara in might, she showed no forbearance.

So she exposed the people's hypocrisy and laid treachery bare,

And the Muslims' enemy emerged from hiding.

So al-Azhar had always been called 'noble,'

Then it became seats for cuckoldry and the mouth.

He fights every chaste woman in the morning,

And stays awake through the nights, witnessing debauchery, turning a blind eye.

You see him like a lion when her niqab is mentioned,

And, where obscenity and vice are concerned, the greatest benefactor.

And if the unbelievers seek war against her hijab,

He becomes a sword for them, cleaving bones.

And that naive minister openly fought

The outward signs of God's religion, hurling himself into oppression.

Do you women follow the wives of the Prophet Muhammad?!

Look, that is my wife: follow her and be at ease.

And their mufti, Rotary's beloved, is their supporter.

And do oppressors show regard for anyone but a wrongdoer?

Ah, O Kamilia, how sorely you grieve a nation!

Oppression ran rampant until they abandoned every honored person.

So it became a hand for Zion—rather, cannons—

And every fighter for the faith is an enemy, like a criminal.

And within it, the servant of the cross became honored,

And whoever accepts God's religion is disgraced and deprived.

And yet let every tyrant and criminal know

That God's religion has the noblest of lions,

And that God's swords have been unsheathed and brandished,

And that seas of blood will flow.

And this is a warning, not a poet's fancy,

And this is history itself: read, and master it.
