ما لخُلقِ الأَميرِ ثانٍ نُرجِّي

ما لخُلقِ الأَميرِ ثانٍ نُرجِّي

هِ فلا لِلغِنى ولا لِلمَلاهي

هِ فلا لِلغِنى ولا لِلمَلاهي

The prince’s character has no peer we might hope

The emir’s character has no equal we might hope for—

for—neither for riches nor for revelry.

neither for wealth nor for amusements.

أنا راضٍ بكلِّ ذلكَ إلا

أن يَكونَ السَّاقي ابنُ عبدِ اللَّهِ
