حَدِّثينا حديثَ نوحٍ وكم كا

حَدِّثينا حديثَ نوحٍ وكم كا

نَ غَداةَ الطُّوفانِ أهل السَّفينه

نَ غَداةَ الطُّوفانِ أهل السَّفينه

Tell us the story of Noah, and how many

people were aboard the ark on the morning of the Flood.

وبماذا طَرَّيتِ نَفسك فيها

وبماذا طَرَّيتِ نَفسك فيها

حين أغوَيتِهم وأفسدتِ دينَه

حين أغوَيتِهم وأفسدتِ دينَه

And with what did you freshen yourself aboard it,

when you led them astray and corrupted his faith?

أنت قبلَ الدُّنيا خُلِقت ولكن

أنت قبلَ الدُّنيا خُلِقت ولكن

هي تَفنى من قَبلك المِسكِينَه

هي تَفنى من قَبلك المِسكِينَه

You were created before the world, yet

it, poor thing, will perish before you.

فاجعَلي كلَّ ما تَقُولينَ وعظاً

فاجعَلي كلَّ ما تَقُولينَ وعظاً

واذكُري الدَّهَر سالِفاً وقُرُونَه

واذكُري الدَّهَر سالِفاً وقُرُونَه

So make everything you say an admonition,

and recall bygone time and its generations.
