by Love's judge against her, in my favor, for bloodshed.

are the beginnings of calamities and their end.

O sons of al-Zahra, how much has been earned

by the days, in your case, of reproach and blame!

are shrouded by darkness from Banu Harb.

They sailed a sea of error and remained unharmed

in it, while Islam among them did not escape harm.

Then it became an enduring custom:

everyone who could oppress did oppress.

was upheld among the people, yet was not upheld for you.

by the other nations, through what befell you.
