يا أيُّها المَحرومُ قاصِدُهُ

يا أيُّها المَحرومُ قاصِدُهُ

ما لَم يكُن ذا شَهوةٍ شَبِقا

ما لَم يكُن ذا شَهوةٍ شَبِقا

O you whose seeker is deprived,

O you who is deprived of what he desires

Unless he is lustful and lecherous;

Nothing that was without yearning and longing

ويَظلُّ نائِكُه وتارِكُهُ

ويَظلُّ نائِكُه وتارِكُهُ

يَتَعاقَبانِ سَعادةً وشَقا

يَتَعاقَبانِ سَعادةً وشَقا

And the one who beds him and the one who leaves him keep

His wailing and leaving it

Alternating between happiness and misery.
