أكذا كلّ غائبٍ

أكذا كلّ غائبٍ

غاب عمَّن يحبُّه

غاب عمَّن يحبُّه

Is it thus with everyone who is absent,

Who has gone away from the one who loves him—

غابَ عنه ودادُه

غابَ عنه ودادُه

وسلا عنه قلبُه

وسلا عنه قلبُه

His affection for him has vanished,

And his heart has forgotten him?
