لي صاحِبٌ كلَّما ذكرتُ لهُ

لي صاحِبٌ كلَّما ذكرتُ لهُ

بينَ حَبيبٍ تَفيضُ عَيناهُ

I have a companion; whenever I mention to him

parting from a beloved, his eyes overflow.

وارَحمتا لِلفِراقِ منه وَما

Alas, pity for separation at his hands, and for what

Have mercy on parting from him and whatever

it endures of his reproach and complaint.
