Yes, no one but you is fit for this task.
Yes, none other than you is fit for this matter,
And if asked, 'Is there a worthy man?' the answer is 'Salih.'
And if asked "Is there one who is fit?" say "Fit is he!"

You strove to attain the heights without toil,
You have strived to attain the heights without toil,
And another strives for the heights, laboring hard.
While others strive for the heights, toiling as they go.

And in that trade you reap a profit.
A trade in which you are triumphant and achieve profit.

Whose fragrance wafts through the regions of the two Iraqs.
Whose fragrance spread through the lands of Iraq.

So you remain in place, while it roams across the earth.
While you stay still and it roams the earth around.

With your excellence the ministry has girded its loins,
By a minister who opens the gates of fatherly care.
A minister opening the gates of guardianship.

Indeed, a counselor who recommended what I see
An advisor has advised what I see-
Is, by my life, a truly sincere adviser.
An advisor sincerely counseling for my life.

And through good deeds, interests are served.
And through the rectitude of deeds, interests are achieved.

And among men, some are outweighed and others outweigh.
While among the people there is one declined, and one inclined.

Perhaps, through you, the fire whose embers were kindled
Perhaps through you the fire, whose embers
By the people will be quenched, though its embers were then scorching.
Among the people blazed, will be extinguished, then subside.

Matters that have decreed that no dweller will see safety,
Amid them; nor did one far away rejoice at what had happened.
And none rejoice in that which departed and left.

And the gravelly streambeds flowed—but with blood.
And blood flows copiously and skins lie trapped.

Straightened, blood-stained spears, and white sword-blades.
Cultured, bleeding, with its white towers exposed.
