The traces and ruins of Mayya’s dwelling have been effaced;
Traces and ruins of Mayy's dwelling have faded,
and our condition changed when its inhabitants departed.
and our fortunes changed when its dweller departed.

yet can questioning the dwelling's traces help me?

ah, to chaste love belongs what the wild lote trees united!

and who kills me by desertion—for desertion is deadly.
yet he kills me through estrangement—and estrangement kills.

the lovesick have reproachers, and love has its faultfinders.
