Misfortune from tears becomes their waterer.

The bereaved has a right that you fulfill for him.

For I am the one who pours it, while dwelling in agonies.

Killing it, while youth revived it.

Though no archer has struck her with separation's arrow?
And who shot him with the arrow of separation?

The delicate one provokes me, and I provoke her!

Burning pangs I suffer in my love for Mayy.
For violent love of limpid water I sympathized with.

So the tears' crossing flowed, when it ran,
To a passion I spent the night both hiding and revealing.
From overflowing with love I hide, yet reveal.

Then leave him be, for he is smitten, and leave it alone.
Leave him be, for he is passionate, so leave him be!

For what it has suffered in love is enough for it.
For what he encountered in love suffices him.
