Have you seen one like me in love,
thirsting, yet unquenched by water?

He longs to embrace sword-blades,
Who longs to embrace sword blades,
yet fears the eyes of gazelles.
Yet fears the gazelles’ eyes?

Indeed sanction the shedding of blood.

On one who is miserly in giving to me,

How can I be cured of passion,

I would hope to live on too.
