أبا مصطفى زوَّجْتَ بالخيرِ والهَنا

أبا مصطفى زوَّجْتَ بالخيرِ والهَنا

أخاكَ وقد بُلِّغْتَ في عُرسِه المنى

أخاكَ وقد بُلِّغْتَ في عُرسِه المنى

Father of Mustafa, you have wed your brother amid goodness and joy,

O Abu Mustafa, with goodness and joy you married off

O Abaa Mustapha, you have married off

and in his wedding you have attained all you wished for.

your brother, and at his wedding your wishes were fulfilled.

Your brother for the best, and you have attained what you wished for at his wedding

وأحْسَنْتَ في تزويجهِ وسرورِه

وأحْسَنْتَ في تزويجهِ وسرورِه

وما زلْتَ بَرًّا في الأماجد محسنا

وما زلْتَ بَرًّا في الأماجد محسنا

You arranged his marriage and his happiness most graciously,

And you did well in arranging his marriage and his happiness,

You did well in marrying him off and making him happy

and have ever been devoted to the noble, doing good.

and have ever been benevolent and generous among the noble.

And you have always been righteous and a doer of good

وأعْلَنْتَ بالأفراح في كلِّ موطنٍ

وأعْلَنْتَ بالأفراح في كلِّ موطنٍ

فأصبحَ رسْماً بالمسرَّات معلنا

فأصبحَ رسْماً بالمسرَّات معلنا

You proclaimed the celebrations in every place,

And you proclaimed the festivities in every place,

You announced the joys in every place

until it became a ceremony announced with delights.

so each became a sign openly proclaiming gladness.

So it became a tradition to announce joys

وإنَّك يا ربَّ المكارم والعلى

وإنَّك يا ربَّ المكارم والعلى

تفَنَّنْتَ بالفعل الجميل تَفَنُّنا

تفَنَّنْتَ بالفعل الجميل تَفَنُّنا

Indeed, O master of noble deeds and lofty rank,

And you, O master of noble deeds and high rank,

O Lord of generosity and highness

you displayed exquisite artistry in gracious action.

have shown consummate artistry in gracious deeds.

You have perfected doing beautiful deeds

دعانا إلى الأفراح داعٍ من الهنا

دعانا إلى الأفراح داعٍ من الهنا

فأذَّنَ فينا بالسرور وأعلنا

فأذَّنَ فينا بالسرور وأعلنا

A herald of happiness called us to the festivities,

A herald from happiness called us to the celebrations,

We were called to joys by a caller of bliss

proclaiming joy among us, openly and aloud.

and proclaimed joy among us, announcing it aloud.

So he announced in us bliss and declared

فنعمَ أخٌ هُنِّيتَ فيه مزوَّجاً

فنعمَ أخٌ هُنِّيتَ فيه مزوَّجاً

وحقَّ وأيم الله فيه لك الهنا

وحقَّ وأيم الله فيه لك الهنا

What an excellent brother—may you be congratulated on his marriage!

What a fine brother, on whose marriage you were congratulated!

What a good brother you congratulated when marrying him

Truly, by God, in him happiness is yours.

And, by God, your happiness in him is well deserved.

By Allah, you deserved congratulations

تقيٌّ نقيٌّ طاهرٌ وابن طاهر

تقيٌّ نقيٌّ طاهرٌ وابن طاهر

رفيعُ منارِ المجدِ مستحكم البنا

رفيعُ منارِ المجدِ مستحكم البنا

God-fearing, pure, spotless, and the son of one spotless,

Pious, unblemished, pure, and the son of a pure man,

Godfearing, pure, immaculate and son of the immaculate

his beacon of glory rises high, its structure firm.

his beacon of glory is lofty, his edifice firmly built.

Of high lineage, strong in building

تَقَرُّ به عيناك طِفلاً ويافعاً

تَقَرُّ به عيناك طِفلاً ويافعاً

وتلقى به الظنَّ الجميلَ تيقُّنا

وتلقى به الظنَّ الجميلَ تيقُّنا

Your eyes delight in him, as a child and as a youth,

He gladdens your eyes, as a child and as a youth,

Your eyes feel comfort seeing him as a child or youth

and in him your fairest hopes become certainty.

and through him you find your good expectations confirmed.

And you have good expectations of him

على مثله تملي القوافي نشيدها

على مثله تملي القوافي نشيدها

وأسنَةُ الأشراف تنطق بالثنا

وأسنَةُ الأشراف تنطق بالثنا

For one like him, the verses pour forth their song,

For one like him, the rhymes dictate their song,

The poems dictates its rhymes about the likes of him

and the nobles’ spearheads speak his praise.

and the nobles' spearheads speak in praise.

And the tongues of noblemen speak his praise

وتعتَرفُ السَّادات بالفضلِ من فتًى

وتعتَرفُ السَّادات بالفضلِ من فتًى

قد اتخذ المعروف إذ ذاك ديدنا

قد اتخذ المعروف إذ ذاك ديدنا

The great acknowledge the excellence issuing from a young man

And the lords acknowledge excellence in a young man

The masters acknowledge the merit of a young man

who long ago made good works his constant way,

who had then adopted kindness as his constant practice,

Who has thus taken benefaction as his wont

ليظهَرَ فيه الله أسرار جدِّه

ليظهَرَ فيه الله أسرار جدِّه

وقد لاح للأبصار ما فيه من سنا

وقد لاح للأبصار ما فيه من سنا

that God might reveal in him the hidden virtues of his forefather.

so that God might reveal in him the secrets of his grandfather;

So that God may reveal in him the mysteries of his grandfather

The radiance within him has already shone before all eyes.

and the radiance within him has already shone forth for eyes to see.

And the splendor of what is in him of glory has appeared to sights

يلوح عليه للرئاسة طالعٌ

يلوح عليه للرئاسة طالعٌ

ألَسْتَ تراه ظاهر المجد بيِّنا

ألَسْتَ تراه ظاهر المجد بيِّنا

A rising sign of leadership gleams upon him—

Upon him shines an ascendant star of leadership.

A rising star for leadership is shining upon him

do you not see him, manifest in glory and plainly distinguished?

Do you not see him, his glory manifest and clear?

Do you not see his obvious glory?

إذا ما ادَّعى بالمجد طالع عِزّة

إذا ما ادَّعى بالمجد طالع عِزّة

أقام دليلاً من سناه مبرهنا

أقام دليلاً من سناه مبرهنا

Whenever a rising star of honor lays claim to glory,

Whenever a rising star of honor lays claim to glory,

If the star of might claims glory

it offers from its radiance a manifest proof.

it offers proof from its radiance, making its claim clear.

It presents evidence from his splendor, proving it

حباك به المولى أخاً وحَبَبْتَه

حباك به المولى أخاً وحَبَبْتَه

وجادَ به المولى عليك وأحسنا

وجادَ به المولى عليك وأحسنا

The Lord gifted him to you as a brother, and you loved him;

The Lord endowed you with him as a brother, and you loved him;

The Master has granted you him as a brother and you have made him beloved

the Lord bestowed him generously upon you and dealt most graciously.

and the Lord bestowed him on you generously and kindly.

And the Master has been generous to you through him and done good

فشكراً لما خُوِّلتَه ورُزِقتَه

فشكراً لما خُوِّلتَه ورُزِقتَه

فشكرانك النعماء أفضل مقتنى

فشكرانك النعماء أفضل مقتنى

So give thanks for what you have been granted and provided,

So give thanks for what you were granted and provided,

So thanks for what you have been given and granted

for gratitude for blessings is the finest treasure.

for your gratitude for blessings is the finest treasure.

For thanking the Bestower is the best possession

وها هو فرعٌ قد زكا طيب أصلِه

وها هو فرعٌ قد زكا طيب أصلِه

به ثمر الآمال مولاي يجتنى

به ثمر الآمال مولاي يجتنى

Here he is, a branch flourishing through the goodness of its root;

And behold, he is a branch that has flourished from a goodly root;

And here he is, a branch that has thrived, goodly as his origin

through him, my lord, the fruit of hopes is gathered.

through him, my lord, the fruit of hopes is harvested.

Through him hopes bear sweetest fruit, my Master

فلا زِلتَ مسرور الفؤاد بمثله

فلا زِلتَ مسرور الفؤاد بمثله

فتزجرُ منه طائر السعد أيمنا

فتزجرُ منه طائر السعد أيمنا

May you remain gladdened at heart by one like him,

May you ever remain glad of heart through one like him,

You have always been joyous of heart because of the like of him

reading in him the bird of fortune as a most auspicious omen.

and read in him fortune's bird as a favorable omen.

So the bird of bliss wards off misfortune

وفي كلّ ما ترجو من الله نَيْلَهُ

وفي كلّ ما ترجو من الله نَيْلَهُ

دَعا لك داعٍ بالتهاني وأمَّنا

دَعا لك داعٍ بالتهاني وأمَّنا

In all that you hope God will grant you,

And in all you hope to attain from God,

And in all that you hope to attain from God

a well-wisher prayed for you with congratulations and said amen.

may a well-wisher offer you prayers and congratulations, and say Amen.

A supplicant has prayed for you, giving you good tidings and saying "Amen"

بفضلك استغني عن النَّاس كلّها

بفضلك استغني عن النَّاس كلّها

فلا حُرِمَ الراجون من فضلك الغنى

فلا حُرِمَ الراجون من فضلك الغنى

Through your bounty I have no need of anyone else;

Through your bounty I have no need of anyone else;

Through your merit you have been enriched without all people

may those who hope never be denied the riches of your generosity.

so may the hopeful never be denied freedom from want through your bounty.

So those hoping for your merit have not been deprived of wealth
