هُنّيت هُنّيت بالعيد السعيد فَقَدْ

وافاك بالخير موفوراً وموقورا

وافاك بالخير موفوراً وموقورا

Congratulations, congratulations on the happy feast, for

I congratulate, I congratulate you on the happy feast

it has come to you with goodness, prosperous and honored as you are.

For it has come to you full of abundant and plentiful goodness

مَلأت أفئدةً منّا به فرحاً

مَلأت أفئدةً منّا به فرحاً

كما مَلأت به أبصارنا نورا

كما مَلأت به أبصارنا نورا

Through it you have filled our hearts with joy,

It has filled our hearts with joy

just as through it you have filled our eyes with light.

As it has filled our sights with light

تبارك الله ما أبهاك من رجل

تبارك الله ما أبهاك من رجل

وما أجلّك تقديراً وتصويرا

وما أجلّك تقديراً وتصويرا

Blessed is God—what a splendid man you are!

Blessed is Allah, how magnificent is the man you are

And how majestic you are, in estimation and portrayal!

And how eminent you are in honor and esteem

تزهو بطلعتك الدنيا فأحسبها

تزهو بطلعتك الدنيا فأحسبها

كالروض أصْبَحَ بالأنوار ممطورا

كالروض أصْبَحَ بالأنوار ممطورا

The world glows at your appearance, so I imagine it

The world prides itself on your rising, so I reckon it

like a garden now showered with light.

As a garden that dawned with lights adorned

تغني الفقير إذا ما شئت في نظر

تغني الفقير إذا ما شئت في نظر

إخالَه للغنى والمال إكسيرا

إخالَه للغنى والمال إكسيرا

You enrich the poor, whenever you wish, with a glance

You make the poor sing when you so desire, for in their eyes

that I deem an elixir for prosperity and wealth.

You are an elixir to poverty and wealth

فما أتاك امرؤ يرجوك في أربٍ

فما أتاك امرؤ يرجوك في أربٍ

إلاَّ وأصبَحَ في نعماك مغمورا

إلاَّ وأصبَحَ في نعماك مغمورا

For no man has come to you, looking to you in need,

So no man came to you seeking favor in hardship

without becoming immersed in your bounty.

Except he found himself immersed in your blessings

كم طاولتك إلى نيل العلاء يدٌ

كم طاولتك إلى نيل العلاء يدٌ

فقصّرت عن مدى علياك تقصيرا

فقصّرت عن مدى علياك تقصيرا

How many a hand has vied with you to attain eminence,

Many a hand reached to attain exaltation at your table

only to fall far short of your exalted heights!

Yet fell short of your lofty extent, deficient

وحيث يممت في الدنيا إلى جهة

وحيث يممت في الدنيا إلى جهة

أبصَرَتْ سعداً وإقبالاً وتيسيرا

أبصَرَتْ سعداً وإقبالاً وتيسيرا

And wherever in the world you turn toward a place,

And wherever you set out in this life towards any direction

that place beholds good fortune, prosperity, and ease.

You saw happiness, prosperity, and facilitation

يا طيّب الذات يا من كانَ عنصره

يا طيّب الذات يا من كانَ عنصره

مِسكاً يفوح الشذا منه وكافورا

مِسكاً يفوح الشذا منه وكافورا

O you of pure nature, O you whose substance was

O you of excellent essence, you whose nature

musk, from which fragrance wafts, and camphor.

Was musk exuding its fragrance and camphor

ما زلتُ بالشكر حتَّى ينقضي عمره

ما زلتُ بالشكر حتَّى ينقضي عمره

تَعودُ سلمانُ بالأعياد مسرورا

تَعودُ سلمانُ بالأعياد مسرورا

I remain thankful until his life comes to an end;

I shall not cease giving thanks until my life expires

may you return, Salman, with the feasts, rejoicing.

Salman returns to the feasts, delighted
