بُوركتِ يا دارَ سلمانَ الَّتي رُفعتْ

بُوركتِ يا دارَ سلمانَ الَّتي رُفعتْ

منها القواعِدُ للسادات واعْتَمَرتْ

منها القواعِدُ للسادات واعْتَمَرتْ

Blessed be you, O house of Salman, from which were raised

Blessed art thou, O house of Salman, that was raised up

Foundations for noble lords, and which flourished.

With foundations for nobles laid down, and consecrated

تَحلُّها من قريش سادةٌ نجبٌ

تَحلُّها من قريش سادةٌ نجبٌ

باهَتْ بهم مُضَرُ الحمراءُ وافتخرَتْ

باهَتْ بهم مُضَرُ الحمراءُ وافتخرَتْ

Distinguished lords of Quraysh dwell within it;

Filled with chiefs of Quraysh, noble and highborn

Mudar the Red boasted of them and took pride.

The ruddy Mudar waxed proud with them dwelling inside

مثل البدور إذا ما أشرقَتْ وزَهَتْ

مثل البدور إذا ما أشرقَتْ وزَهَتْ

أو الضراغم إنْ صالت وإنْ زَأَرَتْ

أو الضراغم إنْ صالت وإنْ زَأَرَتْ

Like full moons when they shine and glow,

Like full moons when they rise and shine bright

Or lions when they charge and when they roar.

Or stallions neighing loudly when the herd stamps and snorts

على مقاصيرها من كلّ مبتهجٍ

على مقاصيرها من كلّ مبتهجٍ

من المحاسنِ والإِحسان قد قصرَتْ

من المحاسنِ والإِحسان قد قصرَتْ

To its private chambers, every delight

With the fair-faced in all their joy at every window

Of beauty and benevolence has been reserved.

Of kindness and benevolence its chambers are richly decked

سرِّحْ بها نظراً وانظر بها قمراً

سرِّحْ بها نظراً وانظر بها قمراً

فإنَّها تعجبُ الأَنظار ما نظَرَتْ

فإنَّها تعجبُ الأَنظار ما نظَرَتْ

Let your gaze roam within it, and behold a moon there;

Roam it with your eyes and behold in it a moon

For it delights the eyes whenever they gaze.

For it amazes all eyes that on it have gazed

وقل بسلمان بانيها وساكنها

وقل بسلمان بانيها وساكنها

أَرِّخْ بسلمان دارُ المجد قد عَمُرَتْ

أَرِّخْ بسلمان دارُ المجد قد عَمُرَتْ

And say of Salman, its builder and inhabitant:

And say it was built and inhabited by Salman

Record the date: 'Through Salman, the house of glory has flourished.'

Date the house of glory, for it has been restored
