O king whose keen sword has annihilated the foes,

And haven whose smile has enriched the seekers of bounty,

    فكيف بثاوٍ في حماك حمامه

    One day's meeting with you in a lifetime is happiness;

What, then, of one who dwells in your sanctuary until his death?

And your servant complains of his debt while giving thanks

For your bounty, whose cloud enriches the rain clouds.

And I have a horse an arrow struck down, turning it

Into a campsite's hearthstones: it stands on three legs.

A courtyard within it is inhabited by a wound,

And its saddle and bridle are left idle.

We have come for the noble favors you have accustomed us to,

In which the hopeful seeker takes refuge, and his anguish is healed.

For your mercy is succor whose champion is never absent,

And your bounty is rain whose flow never pauses.
