Welcome to the beloved who is arriving.
Welcome, my beloved visitor
Welcome and greetings to the arriving beloved,
This day, for me, is the finest of festive seasons.
This day I have the best of seasons
This day is, for me, the finest of seasons.
جاءcame السرورjoy مصاحباas a companion لقدومهto his arrival
وانزاحand departed ماwhat قدalready كانhad been قبلbefore ملازميclinging to me
Joy came, accompanying his arrival.
Joy has come accompanying your arrival
Joy has come, accompanying his arrival,
And what had clung to me before was dispelled.
And gone is what had been my companion
And the burden that once clung to me has vanished.

منfrom غيرother than ماany منٍّreproach for a favor ولستُand I am not بنادمregretful
I would ransom you with my precious soul, O visitor,
I ransom you with my precious soul, guest
I offer my precious soul as ransom for you, O visitor,
Without reproach for the favor, and with no regret.
Without favor, and I have no regrets
Without reckoning the favor, nor do I feel regret.

Long have I questioned the camel caravans, yearning
My questioning of the caravans grew long
Long did I question the riders out of yearning,
For the beauty of beholding your majestic face.
Yearning for the beauty of seeing your magnificent face
For the beauty of beholding your magnificent face.
لاno غروwonder إنif أحببتكمI loved you منfrom قبلbefore ماthat

No wonder if I loved you before
No wonder I loved you before
It is no wonder that I loved you before ever
I saw you—you are the beauty of the world.
I saw you, you are the world's beauty
Laying eyes on you, for you are the beauty of the world.

حتىuntil رأيتكI saw you أنتyou أنتَyou مكالميthe one who speaks with me
My eyes were jealous of my hearing,
My hearing was jealous, and my sight envious
My eyes used to be jealous of my hearing,
Until I saw you—you yourself, my interlocutor.
Until I saw you, you who completes me
Until I saw you, your very self, conversing with me.

ماwhat كانwas قبلاًpreviously فيin يقينthe certainty of العالمthe knower
You have bestowed white-handed favors on me, for you showed me
I have fair hands since you showed me
I owe you gratitude for favors, for you have shown me
What had previously lain in the knower's certainty.
What had not been certain before
What was previously merely the certainty of knowledge.
والآنand now صرتI have become منof اليقينcertainty بحقّهin its truth
وبعينهand in its direct vision إنindeed السرورjoy منادميmy boon companion
And now I have attained the truth of certainty,
And now I am certain in truth
But now I have attained the truth of certainty regarding it,
And the eye of certainty; indeed, joy is my boon companion.
And in its essence, that joy is my companion
And the very eye of certainty, for joy is my companion.

O namesake of the Pole of the gnostics, yours indeed is eminence,
I name you the pole of the gnostics, so perhaps
I name you the Pole of the Gnostics for your eminence,
Taking your place at its most exalted landmarks.
Occupying the highest place of pillars
Occupying the most majestic of its landmarks.

You are the one who has become peerless in excellence;
You who in merit has become singular
You are the one who has become singular in virtue,
His exalted rank has no claimant or rival.
Maybe no pretender or rival
To whose heights there is no claimant nor rival.

May you ever remain of blessed disposition, rising
You still rise with auspicious ascent
May you remain blessed in nature, ascending
With good fortune, possessed of virtue and a companion of noble deeds.
With merit, gentleness, and generosity
In good fortune, a possessor of grace and friend of noble deeds.
