الحمد للّه قد خصّني

الحمد للّه قد خصّني

بصفات كلّ الناس لا النسناس

بصفات كلّ الناس لا النسناس

Praise be to God; He has indeed singled me out

Praise be to God who has blessed me

Praise be to God, Who has distinguished me

With the qualities of all humankind, not of ape-like beings:

With the virtues of all people, not the obnoxious

With the attributes of true humans, not the sub-humans;

الجود والعلم النفيس وإنني

الجود والعلم النفيس وإنني

لأنا الصبور لدى اشتداد الباس

لأنا الصبور لدى اشتداد الباس

Generosity and precious knowledge; and indeed I

Generosity and precious knowledge, and I

With generosity and precious knowledge; and indeed, I

Am truly the steadfast one when battle grows fierce.

Am the patient one when troubles intensify

Am the steadfast one when adversity grows fierce,

وتحدّثي شكرا لنعمة خالقي

وتحدّثي شكرا لنعمة خالقي

إذ كان في ضمني جميع الناس

إذ كان في ضمني جميع الناس

And I speak in gratitude for my Creator's blessing,

And I speak with thanks for the blessings of my Creator

And I speak in gratitude for the blessing of my Creator,

Since all humankind was contained within me.

As all people were encompassed within me

For within me resides the essence of all mankind.
