O night traveler to the place of the Prophet’s night journey,

O you who travel to the Prophet's sanctuary

and confidant of the usurped homeland,

And save the usurped homeland

هل على الصحراء من أعلامنا

هل على الصحراء من أعلامنا

مطلع الشمس ومهوى الكوكب

مطلع الشمس ومهوى الكوكب

Are there any of our banners over the desert,

Are there flags of ours over the desert

where the sun rises and the star descends?

The rising sun and the star's orbit?

قد كبونا، رب مهر جامح

قد كبونا، رب مهر جامح

رده في العدو مكر الثعلب

رده في العدو مكر الثعلب

We have stumbled; many a headstrong colt

We have endured, Lord of the raging stallion

has been turned back mid-gallop by the fox’s guile.

Return the cunning of the fox upon the enemy

زحفَ الجندُ وحانَ الموعدُ

زحفَ الجندُ وحانَ الموعدُ

والمجالُ الرحب أمس وغد

والمجالُ الرحب أمس وغد

The troops advanced, and the appointed hour arrived;

The army marched and the time came

and the wide arena is yesterday and tomorrow,

The vast plain yesterday and tomorrow

والمدى قلب وعين ويد

والمدى قلب وعين ويد

والشذا عبق الفداء الطيب

والشذا عبق الفداء الطيب

and the expanse is heart and eye and hand,

And the horizon is heart and eye and hand

and the fragrance is the sweet scent of sacrifice.

And inspiration is the fragrance of sweet sacrifice

ودوت في أفقها المضطرم

ودوت في أفقها المضطرم

وا فلسطين على كل فم

وا فلسطين على كل فم

And in her blazing horizon rang out

And its flaming horizons roared

“O Palestine!” from every mouth.

Oh Palestine, on every mouth

يلتقيها في المدى رجع الصدى

يلتقيها في المدى رجع الصدى

ويؤديها لأفق أعظم

ويؤديها لأفق أعظم

The echo’s reverberation meets it in the distance,

It meets it in the field, the echo returns

and carries it to a greater horizon.

And takes it to a greater horizon

فانطلقنا خلف أبعاد المنى

في المجال الصاخب المحتدم

في المجال الصاخب المحتدم

So we set forth in pursuit of hope’s far reaches,

So we set out beyond the dimensions of purpose

in the clamorous, raging arena.

In the clamorous raging field
