    وَسِلاحُنا فُتل السَواعِدْ

    We are the sources and the resources;

and sinewy forearms are our weapon.

Our heads, for glory to stand

firm when we create it, are foundations.

And our hearts are a spring of noble

virtues and praiseworthy deeds, never running dry.

    And our red blood, for

    supreme freedom, forms tributaries.

And ours are white hands of kindness; none

but an ingrate forgets such favors.

    And through us, when hard-

ships strike, comes relief from hardships.

Indeed, our name is Workers; we do not

let idle talk distract us from our aims.

We die upon the edges of spear-

heads, not on cushions and pillows.

    And we confront outrageous oppression

    with resolve that cleaves boulders.

And we melt, in the fire of strug-

gle and its heat, the shackles off us.

We are not like those who rant upon the

    wooden platforms with thunderous speeches.

And one strange thing amid calami-

ties is division, though our grief is one.

We spend our lives in dis-

pute, between a faultfinder and one who praises.

    The falsehoods of boast-

ing have sold well among us, while merit goes unsold.

And goodness has become a victim,

between a destroyer and one who is spent.
