مالي لقد أصبحت من نيل المنى

لا أنت أنت أرى ولا أني أنا

لا أنت أنت أرى ولا أني أنا

What has become of me? Having attained my wishes, I now

What have I, for I have reached the wishes

see neither you as you, nor myself as myself.

Neither you, you I see, nor I, I am

وأرى البلاد ولا بلاد وأهلها

وأرى البلاد ولا بلاد وأهلها

لا أهلها وأرى الدُّنا هي لا الدُّنا

لا أهلها وأرى الدُّنا هي لا الدُّنا

And I see the lands, yet no lands, and their people—

And I see the countries, no countries and its people

not their people; and I see the worlds, yet they are not the worlds.

No people, and I see the world, it's not the world

وجيمع ما قد كان زال ولم يزل

وجيمع ما قد كان زال ولم يزل

والكل وهماً صار لي كي يفتنا

والكل وهماً صار لي كي يفتنا

And all that once was has vanished, yet has not vanished;

And all that was has gone and not gone

And all became an illusion to me, to beguile me.

And all is fancy, it became for me to seduce us

وبدا الذي قد كان عني خافياً

وبدا الذي قد كان عني خافياً

متصوراً بالكل لي متعينا

متصوراً بالكل لي متعينا

And the one who had been hidden from me appeared,

And the hidden has appeared

Taking form in all things, becoming distinct to me,

Formed with all, defined for me

من غير ما صور تغيره ولا

من غير ما صور تغيره ولا

هو بالظهور بها يكون مكوّنا

هو بالظهور بها يكون مكوّنا

Without any forms altering him; nor

Without forms changing it, nor

does he become created by appearing in them.

Is it with appearing, composed by them

ما قيدته عن مدى إطلاقه

ما قيدته عن مدى إطلاقه

إذ لا وجود لها سواه مبينا

إذ لا وجود لها سواه مبينا

They have not restricted his boundless scope,

What I tied from its unlimitedness

For they have no existence save him, made manifest.

As there is no existence except it defined

وهي الكثيرة وهو فيها واحد

وهي الكثيرة وهو فيها واحد

فرد وإن صبغته لي فتلونا

فرد وإن صبغته لي فتلونا

And they are many, while he within them is one,

And it is the many, and it is One in it

Unique, though they colored him for me, and so he took on color.

Single, though it colored me varied

لم يشتغل عن بعضها بالبعض بل

لم يشتغل عن بعضها بالبعض بل

في كل شيء لم يزل متمكنا

في كل شيء لم يزل متمكنا

He was not distracted from some of them by others; rather,

It did not busy from some with some, but

In everything he has always remained firmly established.

In everything, it has not ceased empowered

وشئونه هي وهي فانية به

وشئونه هي وهي فانية به

وهو الذي هو ليس يدركه الفنا

وهو الذي هو ليس يدركه الفنا

And they are his modes, and through him they pass away,

And its qualities are it, and it is vanishing by it

And he is the one whom annihilation does not overtake.

And it is that which it is, not reached by passing

حقٌّ ونحنُ وما نشاهدُ باطلٌ

حقٌّ ونحنُ وما نشاهدُ باطلٌ

فتن العقولَ بخلقِه والأعينا

فتن العقولَ بخلقِه والأعينا

He is real; we and what we behold are unreal.

True, and we, and what we witness, false

He has beguiled minds and eyes with his creation.

It seduced minds by creating and eyes

فاحذر تظن بأن شيئاً غيره

فاحذر تظن بأن شيئاً غيره

معه يكون هناك في الغد أو هنا

معه يكون هناك في الغد أو هنا

So beware of thinking that anything other than him

So beware you think anything other than it

exists alongside him, there tomorrow or here.

Will be there tomorrow or here with it
