Visit the daughters of priests in the monastery of Hinnah
And sip their wine from their hands.
And drink their wine from their hands

And enter every tavern that brings you to the beloved
Maidens who spoke clearly in their melody.
Who spoke eloquently in their melody

They are the source of love; never has a lover been enraptured
They are the origin of passion, and no passionate one
Among humankind, except by them.
Has ever become passionate among people except through them

Every slender-waisted maiden gives life with a smile,
Each beautiful one greets with a smile
And slays the yearning lover with ardor and longing.
And I die of yearning, sorrow and longing

If she points toward existence, she reveals
If she gestures to the soul, she reveals it
It; otherwise, it remains behind veils.
Or not, for it is in her protection

And if she invites us, we respond confused
With souls at peace in loving her.
With souls in love with her reassured

Awake, my drinking companion, from your reason’s sleep, and bow
Wake my friend from the sleep of your mind and bow down
To the beauties of existence, and prostrate yourself before them.
To the idols of existence and prostrate to them

Through the curtains—the most perfect sound.
