To whom shall I complain of what ails me, when what ails me is God?

And there is no ruler in the cosmos but He—God.

And the cosmos is nothing but God, and the one to whom complaint is made,

and the one who complains—indeed, every complaint—is God.

And God is nothing but the unseen reality of them all; He appeared

through them, from Him; the acted-upon and the agent are God.

Exalted and majestic is God, beyond every created thing.

And God is nothing but the Unseen; that is He—God.

As He said in the Qur’an—which is His speech

in our view; and “indeed We,” together with “with Us,” is God.

He is the First—God; He is the Last—God.

He is the Manifest—God; He is the Hidden—God.

And our Qur’an is God, who is sent down

through Gabriel—who is God—a light that is God,

upon the heart—which is God—the heart of Muhammad.

It is God, and the rulings within it are God.

And this is God, called Paradise.

His heavens and the earth, all together, are God.

As for the deniers, all things, in their view—

they call them “things”—are not God.

And God, to them, is nothing but that which

has a form in their minds that they take to be God.

And all that is in the mind and the senses, in their view—

that, then, is other than God; it is not God.

It is the Fire, kindled in the heart with things other than Him—

Hell—God burns in it and is its kindler.

And there is nothing but Paradise and Hell.

So our Paradise is God—“Say: He is God.”

Just as their Fire is all that is other than Him, kindled for them,

so they burn in it, and the just judge is God.

    So if you wish, be in Paradise or Hell;

then you will see: what I spoke of is God.

And things other than Him will be effaced from you, for they

are imagined falsehood, which God effaces.

And the Real is none but God, and all is falsehood,

as stated in the Qur’an; and the Powerful is God.

My brother, how long this beguilement by falsehood?

Awaken! For the death of ignorance—that is God.

He is the All—rather, no all exists—and all is perishing,

and passing away; and this, all of this, is God.
