به بين أهل الجهل ذاك معيب

به بين أهل الجهل ذاك معيب

They say, “Do not speak of what you know

They say, "Do not speak what you know

Among the ignorant; that is blameworthy.”

Among the ignorant, for that is shameful."

فقلت لهم خلوا الملام فإننا

فقلت لهم خلوا الملام فإننا

بحكم التجلي والمجال قريب

بحكم التجلي والمجال قريب

So I said to them, “Leave off reproach, for we

But I said to them, "Spare your blame, for we

Are near by virtue of manifestation and the realm.

Are near to truth by nature's light revealed."

شربنا وأهرقنا على الأرض جرعة

شربنا وأهرقنا على الأرض جرعة

وللأرض من كأس الكارم نصيب

وللأرض من كأس الكارم نصيب

We drank and poured a draught upon the earth,

We drank and poured upon the earth a draught,

And the earth has a share from the generous one's cup.”

And of the noble cup the earth took part.
