Sol 6.1

  1. ليس إلا مظاهرٌ ومجالي

    فاتركونا نَجُلْ بهذا المجالِ

    There is nothing but manifestations and places of disclosure.

    So leave us to roam in this realm.

  2. ما مع الله في الوجود سواه

    إنما نحن فرضه للمحال

    In existence, there is none with God but Himself.

    We are only His supposition of the impossible.

  3. من قديم أحبنا فأحبي

    ناه والحب مثبت في الخيال

    Of old He loved us, so we loved

    Him; and love is fixed in the imagination,

  4. صوراً تختفي وتظهر طوراً

    في محل بين الحبيبين خالي

    As forms that vanish and appear by turns,

    In an empty place between the two lovers.

  5. فافهموا يا عقول معنى كلامي

    وترقوا به لأوج المعالي

    So understand, O minds, the meaning of my speech,

    And through it ascend to the summit of sublimity.

  6. إنما الحق للجميع محب

    فتراه مصور الأمثال

    The Real is but a lover of all,

    So you see Him fashioning likenesses.

  7. لكن الحب منه لا منك يا من

    هو عنه في غفلة واشتغال

    But love is from Him, not from you, O you who

    Are heedless of Him and preoccupied.

  8. أسرته لضعفه شهواتٌ

    من حرام لذيذةٌ وحلال

    Desires have taken him captive because of his weakness,

    Pleasurable, whether forbidden or lawful.

  9. فلو انزاح فيه عن كل شيء

    لرآه عليه في إقبال

    So if, in Him, he withdrew from everything,

    He would see Him turning toward him.

  10. ثق بمولاك واشتغل في رضاه

    وتحقق واترك جميع الموالي

    Trust in your Master and devote yourself to pleasing Him,

    And attain realization, and forsake all patrons.

  11. إنما الكل فتنة لك فاعلم

    أنه ذوالإكرام والإجلال

    Everything is but a trial for you, so know

    That He is the Possessor of honor and veneration.
