The path stands revealed—where, then, is the wayfarer?

This path has appeared—where, then, is the wayfarer?

People are nothing but the safe and the perishing.

People are either safe or doomed.

رمت الشريعة أنت مملوك لها

رمت الشريعة أنت مملوك لها

وإذا الحقيقة رمت أنت المالك

وإذا الحقيقة رمت أنت المالك

You seek the sacred Law: you are its possession;

If you seek the Sacred Law, you are its slave.

but when it is Reality you seek, you are the master.

And if you seek Reality, you are the master.

والكائنات إذا عرفت تلألأت

والكائنات إذا عرفت تلألأت

وإذا جهلت هي الظلام الحالك

وإذا جهلت هي الظلام الحالك

Created things, when known, shimmer;

And created things, when you know, shine forth.

and when unknown, they are pitch-black darkness.

And when you are ignorant, they are pitch-black darkness.
