ليل الهياكل دجا يا سعد أيقاظُهْ

والبرق يلمع لمن ينظر بألحاظُهْ

The night of the temples has grown dark—how fortunate its wakeful ones are!

The temples' night is dark, O Saad awaken it

And lightning flashes for whoever looks with his eyes.

والحب معناه ظاهرْ عندْ حفاظُهْ

والحب معناه ظاهرْ عندْ حفاظُهْ

من يفهمُهْ فاز والأكوانْ ألفاظُهْ

من يفهمُهْ فاز والأكوانْ ألفاظُهْ

And love's meaning is clear to its guardians.

And love, its meaning is apparent to those who guard it

Whoever understands it triumphs, and the worlds are its words.
