وجود الشيء شاء يشيءُ شيئاً

فكان الشيء عن ذاك الوجودِ

The existence of a thing, desired a thing, created a thing

Thus the thing came from that existence

فسموا الشيء موجوداً وقالوا

وجود ذاك ثان في الشهود

So they named the thing existent and said

The existence of that is second in witness

وقد قسموا الوجود إلى قديم

يجلُّ وحادث هو للنفود

And they divided existence into eternal

Majestic and temporal which disappears

وكيف يصير من عدم وجود

ويدركه الفنا مثل القيود

And how can it come from non-existence

And transient like shackles can perceive it

ألا يا قوم كم هذا العمى من

ولادتكم إلى يوم اللحود

Oh people, how blind since

Your birth until the day of annihilation

تنبهت العوامُّ الغرُّ لما

رأوا قولي وأنتم في رقود

The ignorant commoners were awakened by

My words while you remain asleep

هو الله الذي لا شيء معه

وهل ظل يكون مع العمود

It is Allah, with whom there is nothing

And can a shadow exist with a pillar?
