اطلب العلم بجد واجتهد

فيه واصحب من قراه ودرى

فيه واصحب من قراه ودرى

Seek knowledge earnestly and strive

Seek knowledge with zeal and strive

in its pursuit, and accompany one who has read it and understood.

In it and accompany those who read and knew

وتواضع لذوي الفضل ولا

وتواضع لذوي الفضل ولا

تصحب الجاهل واتركه ورا

تصحب الجاهل واتركه ورا

And be humble before people of merit, and do not

And be humble to the virtuous and don’t

keep company with the ignorant; and leave him behind.
