يا من على الباب لا يردُّ

يا من على الباب لا يردُّ

كيف عن الله فيك صدُّ

كيف عن الله فيك صدُّ

O you who are not turned away at the door,

O you at the door who will not turn away

How can there be in you a turning away from God?

How can you turn away from God within you?

فانظر كما أنت مستعدُّ

فانظر كما أنت مستعدُّ

مظاهر الحق لا تعدُّ

مظاهر الحق لا تعدُّ

So look according to your readiness:

Look how you are prepared

The manifestations of the Real cannot be counted,

Signs of the Truth cannot be counted

والحق فيها فلا يحدُّ

والحق فيها فلا يحدُّ

إن رمت أن لا يكون كربٌ

إن رمت أن لا يكون كربٌ

And the Real is in them, so cannot be bounded.

And the Truth in them is boundless

If you seek that there be no anguish,

If you wish there to be no suffering

ولم يزل في الفؤاد قربٌ

ولم يزل في الفؤاد قربٌ

كن عارفاً والفناء شربٌ

كن عارفاً والفناء شربٌ

And nearness never cease within the heart,

And your heart always feels near

Be a knower, and annihilation is a draught.

Be a knower and dissolution is a drink

إن بطن العبد فهو ربٌّ

إن بطن العبد فهو ربٌّ

وإن بدا الرب فهو عبد

وإن بدا الرب فهو عبد

If the servant is hidden, he is Lord;

The servant's belly, it is the Lord

And if the Lord appears, he is a servant.

And if the Lord appears, He is a servant

ذب في التجلي ذاتاً ووصفا

ذب في التجلي ذاتاً ووصفا

وكن من الروح فيه أصفى

وكن من الروح فيه أصفى

Melt in the manifestation, in essence and attribute,

Sacrifice in revelation essence and attribute

And in it, be purer than the spirit.

And be from the Spirit within the purest

وإن ترم تعرف المصفَّى

وإن ترم تعرف المصفَّى

فظاهر لا يكاد يخفى

فظاهر لا يكاد يخفى

And if you seek to know the purified one,

And if you wish to know the Purified

Then his outward aspect can scarcely be hidden,

Then the apparent barely conceals

وباطن لا يكاد يبدو

وباطن لا يكاد يبدو

And his inward aspect can scarcely appear.

And the hidden barely reveals
