خلق الإنسان في كبدِ

خلق الإنسان في كبدِ

O you of little patience and endurance,

O you of little patience and endurance

The human being was created in hardship.

Man was created with ailment in his nature

فالتفت فالظل أنت له

فالتفت فالظل أنت له

وتواجد في الهوى تجد

وتواجد في الهوى تجد

So turn, for you are His shadow,

So turn back, for you are his shadow

And seek ecstasy in love—you will find.

And you will find in passion

كل من في الكون مشتغل

كل من في الكون مشتغل

بالإله الواحد الصمد

بالإله الواحد الصمد

Everyone in the universe is occupied

Everyone in the universe is busy

With God, the One, the Self-Sufficient.

With the One, Eternal God

لكن الجهال عنه به

لكن الجهال عنه به

في اشتغالات إلى الأبد

في اشتغالات إلى الأبد

But the ignorant, away from Him yet through Him,

But the ignorant are heedless of Him

Are engaged in pursuits forever.

Distracted forever

واشتغال العارفين به

واشتغال العارفين به

فيه لم يلووا على أحد

فيه لم يلووا على أحد

And the knowers' preoccupation with Him

While the gnostics' occupation with Him

Is in Him; they have turned toward no one else.

Does no injustice to anyone

والذي يبدو لأعينهم

والذي يبدو لأعينهم

كله أوصافه فقد

كله أوصافه فقد

And whatever appears to their eyes—

And what appears to their eyes

All of it is His attributes, and nothing more.

Is all His attributes, lost
