Sol 6.1

  1. أيها الطالب النجاة أتاكا

    قول حق فخل عنك الهلاكا

    O seeker of salvation, there has come to you

    a word of truth; so cast destruction away from yourself.

  2. إنني كاشف لك السر فاسمع

    سر رب قد اختفى عن حجاكا

    I am revealing the secret to you, so listen:

    the Lord’s secret, concealed from your understanding.

  3. خلق الله أولاً عالم الرو

    ح وما كان من مكان هناكا

    God first created the realm of the spirit,

    and there was no place there.

  4. لا ولا كان من زمان فحقق

    ما أشرنا له بلغت مناكا

    No, nor was there any time; so ascertain

    what we have pointed to, and you will attain your desire.

  5. ثم من بعده المقادير جاءت

    بِمَكانٍ مع الزمانِ ابتداكا

    Then, after it, the measures came

    with space, along with time—He brought you into being.

  6. وابتداء المقدار عرشٌ محيطٌ

    هو جسم ولا يطيق حراكا

    And the beginning of measure was an all-encompassing Throne;

    it is a body incapable of movement.

  7. ثم فيه من روحه كان نفخ

    من إلهٍ في غيبه لا يُحاكى

    Then into it came a breathing of His spirit,

    from a God who, in His hiddenness, is beyond likeness.

  8. فاقتضى إذ تَحَرُّكاً وسكوناً

    فأدار النجوم والأفلاكا

    So it then entailed motion and rest,

    and set the stars and celestial spheres revolving.

  9. ثم إن النجوم حرك فيها

    ذلك النفخ عندها الإدراكا

    Then, indeed, within the stars was awakened

    by that breath the perception within them.

  10. فتسمَّت أرواحها بعقول

    عند قوم وليس هذا بذاكا

    So their spirits came to be called intellects

    among some people; yet the two are not the same.

  11. إنما العقل كاللسان لروح

    وبه النفخ أمر رب حباكا

    The intellect is only like a tongue for a spirit,

    and through it comes the breath, a command of the Lord who favored you.

  12. ثم بالنفخ كان مزج أصول

    أربع واسمه المزاج اصطكاكا

    Then, through the breath, came a blending of elements—

    four in number—a clashing called temperament.

  13. فبدت أربع المواليد منها

    كيف ما شاء ربهن انسباكا

    So from them appeared the four kinds of generated beings,

    cast into form however their Lord willed.

  14. فهو في الغيب ربنا جل رباً

    وهو في الكون أمره لا انفكاكا

    For in the unseen He is our Lord, exalted as Lord,

    and in creation He is His command, with no separation.

  15. فهو من فوق عرشه لا مكان

    هو فيه إذ لا مكان هناكا

    So He is above His Throne; no place

    contains Him, for there is no place there.

  16. وله الإستوا على العرش حقاً

    وهو للكل ممسكٌ أمساكا

    And truly He is established over the Throne,

    and He holds all things fast.

  17. إن هذا المعنى الذي قال عنه

    إنه فوق عرشه لا عداكا

    Indeed, this meaning, of which He said

    that He is above His Throne, does not go beyond you.

  18. فاعرف الآن منك نفساً تجدها

    أمرَ ربٍّ وخلقَ أمرٍ أتاكا

    So now know your own soul; you will find it

    a command of the Lord, and a creation of a command that came to you.

  19. واعتبر في الوجود علواً وسفلاً

    ما ذكرناه واترك الإشراكا

    And consider, in existence, above and below,

    what we have mentioned, and abandon associating partners with God.

  20. وتحقق به تجده قريباً

    لك وافهم به لينطق فاكا

    And attain certainty in Him; you will find Him near

    to you; understand through Him, that He may make your mouth speak,

  21. ولِتَبقى به له ولِتَفنى

    عن سواه ولا تراه سواكا

    and that you may abide through Him, for Him, and be effaced

    from all besides Him, and see Him as none other than yourself,

  22. وهو باق على الذي هو فيه

    أزلاً ليس ما سواه اشتراكا

    while He remains as He has been

    from eternity; nothing besides Him shares in this.

  23. عز ربي وجل عن كل شيءٍ

    وتعالى يدبِّر الأملاكا

    Mighty is my Lord, sublime beyond all things,

    and supremely exalted, governing the angels.
