1. يا طالب الكيمياء علمي

    إكسيرك الخالص المصفَّى

    O seeker of alchemy, my knowledge

    Is your pure, refined elixir.

  2. ذب والْقِ منه عليك جزءاً

    يصبغ في الحال منك ألفا

    Melt, and cast a portion of it upon yourself;

    It colors a thousand parts of you at once.

  3. يحيلُ قزديرَكَ انقلاباً

    بذهب عنك ليس يخفى

    It turns your tin, by transmutation,

    Into gold that is not hidden from you.

  4. والعين فالغين تلك لكن

    تركت وصفاً ونلت وصفا

    And as for ʿayn, ghayn is that same letter, but

    You have shed one quality and gained another.
