1. يا نور هذا التجلي

    بهرت حسّي وعقلي

    O light of this manifestation,

    You dazzled my senses and my mind.

  2. وأنت قولي وفعلي

    وأنت بعضي وكلي

    And you are my speech and my deed.

    And you are part of me and all of me.

  3. حيرني هذا الظاهر

    نور الأكوان

    This manifest one has bewildered me—

    The light of the worlds.

  4. بدا الجمال الحقيقي

    عليه مزقت زيقي

    True beauty appeared.

    For it I tore my collar.

  5. فلا تقف في طريقي

    يا عاذلي قصد عذلي

    So do not stand in my way,

    O my reproacher, intent on reproaching me.

  6. حيرني هذا الظاهر

    نور الأكوان

    This manifest one has bewildered me—

    The light of the worlds.

  7. بالله يا نور عيني

    من حال بينك وبيني

    By God, O light of my eye,

    Who has come between you and me?

  8. وأنت جمعي وأيني

    في كل عقدٍ وحلِّ

    And you are my union and my whereabouts,

    In every tying and untying.

  9. حيرني هذا الظاهر

    نور الأكوان

    This manifest one has bewildered me—

    The light of the worlds.

  10. يا طالما كنت داني

    في علمه بالمعاني

    Oh, how long I was near,

    In his knowledge of meanings.

  11. واليوم لما جفاني

    قاسيت بعدي وذلي

    And today, when he shunned me,

    I endured my separation and my humiliation.

  12. حيرني هذا الظاهر

    نور الأكوان

    This manifest one has bewildered me—

    The light of the worlds.

  13. جمال وجه الحبائب

    قلبي الشجي منه هائب

    The beauty of the face of the beloveds—

    My sorrowful heart stands in awe of it.

  14. وإن إحدى العجائب

    رجوع أيام وصلي

    And indeed, one of the wonders

    Is the return of my days of union.

  15. حيرني هذا الظاهر

    نور الأكوان

    This manifest one has bewildered me—

    The light of the worlds.

  16. صلى إلهي وسلَّمْ

    على نبي تكلَّمْ

    May my God send blessings and peace

    Upon a prophet who spoke

  17. بالحق لما تعلَّمْ

    من ربه حكم فصلِ

    The truth when he learned

    From his Lord a decisive judgment.

  18. حيرني هذا الظاهر

    نور الأكوان

    This manifest one has bewildered me—

    The light of the worlds.

  19. عبد الغنيْ قام يرجو

    علماً به اليوم ينجو

    ʿAbd al-Ghani rose, hoping

    For knowledge through which he may be saved today.

  20. له من الله نهجُ

    على المقام الأجلِّ

    He has a path from God,

    At the most exalted station.

  21. حيرني هذا الظاهر

    نور الأكوان

    This manifest one has bewildered me—

    The light of the worlds.
