يا نسيم الحي عني

بثَّ ما لا يتناهى

بثَّ ما لا يتناهى

O breeze of the quarter, on my behalf,

spread what has no end

من غرام واشتياق

من غرام واشتياق

نحو طه وابن طه

نحو طه وابن طه

of ardent love and longing

toward Taha and the son of Taha.

سيد ساد بأصل

سيد ساد بأصل

وبفرع قد تباهى

وبفرع قد تباهى

A master, preeminent through his root,

and in his branch he has taken pride.

دأبه التقوى بها لو

دأبه التقوى بها لو

رمت توصيه تراها

رمت توصيه تراها

Piety is his constant way; should you

seek to counsel him to it, you would find it there.

وإذا قلت انتبه لم

وإذا قلت انتبه لم

تر إلا الإنتباها

تر إلا الإنتباها

And if you say, "Be alert," you will not

see anything but alertness.

فهو توفيق إلهيْ

فهو توفيق إلهيْ

جامع فضلاً وجاها

جامع فضلاً وجاها

For he is divine grace,

uniting excellence and distinction.

نسأل الله التباساً

نسأل الله التباساً

عنه يمحو واشتباها

عنه يمحو واشتباها

We ask God that confusion

and doubt be erased from him,

معدماً من لم يزل ما

معدماً من لم يزل ما

لم يكن منه شفاها

لم يكن منه شفاها

the Eternal One annihilating what

was not, by direct address from Him.

فيرى الغير محالاً

فيرى الغير محالاً

ويرى الحق بداها

ويرى الحق بداها

So he sees otherness as impossible,

and beholds the Real plainly.

ويرى الأكوان تفنى

ويرى الأكوان تفنى

عنده كشفاً تلاها

عنده كشفاً تلاها

And he sees the worlds pass away

before him—an unveiling following them.

صانه الله وعما

صانه الله وعما

قد حوى لا يتلاهى

قد حوى لا يتلاهى

May God protect him; and from what

he has attained, he is not distracted.

وحباه منه علما

وحباه منه علما

يعدم النفس هواها

يعدم النفس هواها

And may He grant him knowledge from Himself

that deprives the soul of its desire.

وسلام الله مني

وسلام الله مني

دام يلقاه تجاها

دام يلقاه تجاها

And may God's peace, from me,

ever greet him face to face.
