كلى تفنيه وتوجدُهُ

كلى تفنيه وتوجدُهُ

ولقاك فنائي موعدُهُ

ولقاك فنائي موعدُهُ

My whole being You annihilate and bring into being.

And my annihilation is the appointed hour of meeting You.

ظهرت بتجليك الأشيا

ظهرت بتجليك الأشيا

والأمر بها مدت يده

والأمر بها مدت يده

Through Your self-disclosure, things appeared.

And through them the Command's hand was extended.

وسواك رآك وضل فلم

وسواك رآك وضل فلم

يقدر يهديه مرشده

يقدر يهديه مرشده

And one other than You saw You and strayed, so

his guide could not guide him.

يا طلعة وجه أبيضه

يا طلعة وجه أبيضه

للغافل عنه أسوده

للغافل عنه أسوده

O radiance of a face whose whiteness

is blackness to one heedless of it!

أنت المأمول لكل فتى

أنت المأمول لكل فتى

ومراد القلب ومقصده

ومراد القلب ومقصده

You are the hope of every youth,

and the heart's desire and its aim.

وإنِ الأبصارُ سواك رأت

وإنِ الأبصارُ سواك رأت

ونفت لظهورك تجحده

ونفت لظهورك تجحده

And even if eyes see other than You,

and deny, disavowing Your manifestation,

هذا مدد باق أبداً

هذا مدد باق أبداً

من حضرة غيب يورده

من حضرة غيب يورده

this is an influx that endures forever,

which He brings from the Presence of the unseen.

لا تقدر تقطعه أممٌ

لا تقدر تقطعه أممٌ

تبغي فيه أو تحسده

تبغي فيه أو تحسده

No nations can cut it off,

though they transgress against it or envy it.

والغيب تبدّى في صور

والغيب تبدّى في صور

من ينظر فيها يشهده

من ينظر فيها يشهده

And the unseen revealed itself in forms;

whoever looks into them beholds it.

يهدي قوماً ويضل كما

يهدي قوماً ويضل كما

يُشقي من شاء ويسعده

يُشقي من شاء ويسعده

He guides a people and leads astray, just as

He makes whomever He wills wretched and makes him happy.

والقدرة أجمع قدرته

والقدرة أجمع قدرته

فيها لا زال تفرده

فيها لا زال تفرده

And all power is His power;

His uniqueness within it never ceases.

والكل بها قد قام إذا

والكل بها قد قام إذا

ظهرت في شيء تنجده

ظهرت في شيء تنجده

And all things subsist through it; when

it appears in a thing, it comes to its aid.

وبها قد كُوِّن كل فتى

وبها قد كُوِّن كل فتى

وبها تفنيه وتفسده

وبها تفنيه وتفسده

And through it every youth was brought into being,

and through it You annihilate him and destroy him.

وبقدر الإستعداد ترى

وبقدر الإستعداد ترى

في الشيء فيظهر موجده

في الشيء فيظهر موجده

And in proportion to receptivity, it is seen

in a thing, and so its Maker becomes manifest.

يا نسمة أمر الحق هبي

يا نسمة أمر الحق هبي

سراً في القلب تردده

سراً في القلب تردده

O breeze of the Real's command, blow

secretly within the heart, making it echo.

والحضرة بثي رونقها

والحضرة بثي رونقها

فينا إنا نتودده

فينا إنا نتودده

And spread the Presence's splendor

within us, for we seek His affection.

وإذا أنوار الحق بدت

وإذا أنوار الحق بدت

بالحق نراه فنعبده

بالحق نراه فنعبده

And when the lights of the Real appear,

through the Real we see Him, and so worship Him.

للجسم ركوع يركعه

للجسم ركوع يركعه

للقلب سجود يسجده

للقلب سجود يسجده

The body has a bow it makes;

the heart has a prostration it performs.

والعالم ليل أجمعه

والعالم ليل أجمعه

يا غفلة عبد يرقده

يا غفلة عبد يرقده

And the world is night, all of it.

O heedlessness of a servant whom it lulls to sleep!

فاحذر يلهيك تلبسه

فاحذر يلهيك تلبسه

والظاهر فيك تجدده

والظاهر فيك تجدده

So beware lest its guise distract you;

what appears within you is its renewal.

واظهر بالحمد له أبداً

واظهر بالحمد له أبداً

قد فاز به من يحمده

قد فاز به من يحمده

And come forth with praise for Him forever;

whoever praises Him has indeed triumphed through Him.
